Visual Arts Alberta presents CONCEPT, artwork from artists Agnieszka Soldat and Roger Scrimshaw.
Agnieszka Soldat’s drawings express the complexity of an inner unconscious reality. These thoughts and ideas are pre-verbal, existing in the form of images. Her work aims to explore and understand the vast matrix that people are separate from and yet a part of.
Roger Scrimshaw’s slip-casted pieces are influenced by love, life, death, media, politics and history–all of the things that influence and shape most people. The slip cast figurative anthropomorphic creatures speak to September 11, 2001 and our world turned upside down by events since then.
