Viewpoint Gallery is now accepting submissions for 2025. Submissions are welcomed from both emerging and established artists and groups of artists from the region. Viewpoint Gallery is a City of Red Deer run gallery located in the former Intermediate School at 205 48 Avenue in downtown Red Deer. The gallery features 875 square feet of exhibit space and 80 linear feet for hanging. The duration of group and solo exhibits is typically two to three months. Viewpoint Gallery seeks to provide opportunities for local artists and curators from diverse artistic backgrounds and of varying experience levels to exhibit original works of art. In addition, the gallery aims to offer visitors opportunities to engage with artists and their work. Exhibiting artists are offered an honorarium commensurate with CARFAC’s Fee Schedule for “Exhibitions in Other Public Spaces”.
Submission deadline: Monday January 31, 2025, 4:30 p.m. MST
This call is open to artists and curators working in any visual art media, including but not limited to: sculpture, painting, printmaking, lettering arts, ceramics, fibre arts, glass, fine craft, jewellery, digital art, mixed media, photography, film, video and performance art. Applicants must be Canadian residents, and a preference will be given to residents of Red Deer and Central Alberta. Submissions will be reviewed by City of Red Deer representatives and a submissions review committee, which changes annually. Proposals will be considered based on consistency and quality of work, themes submitted, demonstrated commitment to serious practice, and ensuring a diversity of artists are represented.
