The City of Calgary Public Art Program and the Transportation Infrastructure department are inviting artists who live in, work in or have a connection to the greater Forest Lawn area to submit digital images of existing original two-dimensional artwork. The chosen art will be enlarged and permanently printed onto the glass of bus shelters for the 17 Avenue S.E. Bus Rapid Transit project. All artwork submitted must fit the theme of international foods and the call is open to artists working in any two-dimensional medium. Canadian Heritage is seeking a dynamic, impactful image that conveys the theme of ‘passage’ to be reproduced and installed on the York Street Steps in Ottawa for one year. Blank Page Studio is seeking up to six individuals or artist teams to create projects along the 17 Avenue S.W. corridor between 4 Street and 10 Street S.W. The cREative Realm is designed to integrate creative projects into the reconstruction of the avenue by engaging businesses in the area, creating projects that attract people during the reconstruction period and creating a positive experience in a strenuous time. The City of Richmond is seeking an artist, artist team or artist-led design team to create a sculptural pavilion for the new Tait Waterfront Park. The artwork will function as a picnic shelter that may also accommodate other community-based activities such as yoga, tai-chi and performing arts events.
