The Project:
CARFAC Alberta has received an Edmonton Arts Council Connections & Exchanges project grant to develop a written digital resource designed to support newcomer, emerging, Indigenous artists, and others who wish to better understand the Edmonton art environment. This resource will provide practical tips and tools to assist individuals wishing to become professional artists and turn art-making into a career.
The Project involves working with a volunteer committee, other writers and stakeholders to coordinate the creation of this digital document. We are looking for an organized individual who has excellent time management skills, and knowledge of both writing and the visual arts. As this project is geared towards providing support to newcomer, emerging, and Indigenous artists, we are looking for someone that is interested in working actively with, and for, these communities.
Your Role:
Working in Edmonton, the Project Coordinator + Writer is a part-time, 10 month contract position that involves writing, researching, editing, critical thinking, and adaptability. You will be working both independently and with others, including CARFAC Alberta staff, other contract employees, Volunteer Board Members, and a range community stakeholders.
This is a part-time, contract position ($10,000 for entire contract paid at $1000 per month for 10 months – approximately 30- 40 hours per month). Regular in-person (Edmonton) meetings, conference call committee meetings, and monthly updates with CARFAC Alberta will be required.
